INSTITUTIONAL DISTINCTIVENESS

Coonoor Atmanirbhar Bharat (CAB) Drive 2024–25

Atmanirbhar Bharat, meaning self-reliant India, is a national vision that emphasizes sustainable practices, skill development, and social responsibility. In alignment with this mission, our institution launched the Coonoor Atmanirbhar Bharat (CAB) Drive, an initiative encouraging the residents of Coonoor to foster self-sufficiency and civic responsibility.
As part of the drive, several impactful outreach activities were undertaken to strengthen rural resilience and nurture a humanitarian culture in Coonoor, the Queen of Hills. Highlights include:
• A vermicomposting demonstration was conducted to help villagers manage organic waste effectively.
• Training in mushroom cultivation was provided.
•  A Millet Milling Machine was installed in Bellattimattam village to create livelihood opportunities. Awareness sessions on government empowerment schemes were also organized.
• Health camps were conducted to improve community care and wellness.
• A water storage tank was installed in Bellattimattam village to ensure better water management.
• A playground was allocated  at Anniyada village to encourage physical fitness and holistic growth.
• Awareness sessions were held to equip villagers with essential digital skills, bridging the rural-urban digital divide.
The CAB Drive has instilled a sense of responsibility and purpose among young people while laying the foundation for a self-sufficient and socially conscious India.
